Landmark and Ultrasound Femoral line insertion This station compliments the US guided station which allows candidates to feel that they have covered all of the basics with regards to central venous access. This station is split into two with half the group practising femoral line insertion whilst the other two candidates practise the internal jugular approach. This allows lots of time for repeated insertion attempts under our tutors excellent guidance. At the end of this station you will: Be aware of the indications and possible complications associated with this procedure. Have had multiple attempts at line insertion under expert supervision Be able to approach central venous access in any clinical situation with confidence |
